Program Purpose
- To support basic research related to the foundations of humanities & social science in an effort to build a creative knowledge production base and contribute to the nation’s economic and social development.
- To promote the global universality of academic research and reinforce the research competitiveness of academic institutions & universities.
Program Scope
- Support Budget: KW62.9 billion (Around 1,297 tasks)
- New Support: Around KW1,094 tasks (Continuous Task Support: 203 tasks)
The number of newly applied tasks in 2008 is 1,181.
- Support Field: The entire fields of humanities and social science
Applicant Qualifications
- Researchers who meet Article 5 of the Law on Credit Guarantee of Academic Promotion and School Expenses Loan and its Enforcement Ordinance
Support Contents
1) Joint Research (First Half)
- Original Research (Creative Subjects & Overseas Areas in 2008): Up to KW150 million per year
- Basis Research: Up to KW500million per year
Research tasks worth over KW300million: Screening of the research-related expenses and other conditions will be intensified.
2) Independent Research (Second Half)
- Fixed Amount Research: KW7million per year
- General Research: Up to KW25million per year
- Post Support Program for Outstanding Theses: KW7million (*Includes Joint Research Theses)
3) Support Period: Up to 3 years (Up to 5 years in the case of Basis Research)
