Project Purpose
- To construct the infra of the humanities study and to construct the research capability on the international level through fostering of the research main stream in the research institute by establishing firmly the research system centered on the research institute/corps.
- To choose the substance of the education through the research by intensifying the research function of the institute/corps, and to lead the production and communication of the discussion and to create the knowledge-based high-value by aiming at the academic and social expansion of the research accomplishments
- To promote the general understanding for the globalization and knowledge information-oriented society, to induce the diagnosis of the pending matter and its solution and to seek the future prospect by supporting the academic consilience research, which is planned centering on the agenda reflecting the academic and social demand.

- Research institute in humanities field (corps): Planned to support and foster some 30 institutes for future 10 years
as the support for 10~20 ones is commenced in 2008.
- Large-scale research institute (corps): Annual KW1~1.5billion scale, Around 5~10 institutes in 2008
- Middle-scale research institute (corps): Annual KW 500~800million scale, Around 5~10 institutes in 2008
- Research Institute for Overseas Area Research Field: Planned to commence to support 5~10 research institutes
in KW500~800million scale in 2008 and to support and foster them up to some 20 institutes for future 10 years.

- Humanities Field: Agenda of humanities requiring the long-term planning research in social and academic aspects
- Area Research Field: Research of overseas area on the humanities base (Each area and nation in the world)
